Valle Dell’Angeli, a small town located in the Salerno region of Italy. With a current population of four hundred and fifty, Valle Dell’Angeli has a reputation for having the best chefs in the region. Although small, the town is famous for its exquisite cuisines. Don’t let its size fool you; the town has very much to offer to those looking for a good meal.
Luigi Guida is the owner and head chef of Casaletto Ristorante. He was born in Valle Dell’Angeli. He is the middle son of three boys. In 1970, Luigi and his family moved out of their small town in Italy in hope for prosperity in America. Luigi had to find work at a young age, just as many other Italian immigrants did at this time. Luigi would go to school during the week and go to work on the weekends. He loved the restaurant business, even at a young age he dreamed of one day owning a successful Italian restaurant. He worked as a bus boy, but that’s not all he did. During his time at the restaurant Luigi picked up the tricks of the business; learning how to interact with people, interact with employees, and how to manage a business. By watching and talking to his fellow employees Luigi learned about many different dishes and how to prepare them. Him and his two brothers eventually combined efforts and bought their first successful Italian restaurant in Ossining, New York. For eighteen and one half years, their restaurant served great food and provided its customers with an elegant yet casual environment. Luigi just couldn’t stop there though.
Luigi wanted to continue his legacy by buying one of his old former work places and turning it into his very own Father Son business. Luigi and his son Paul are now the owners of Casaletto in Elmsford, New York. They combine several elements such as their friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere, and delicious food which make it one of the most delectable Italian restaurants in Westchester County. Casaletto’s cuisine consist of both Northern and Neapolitans most delicious dishes. Luigi’s dream of one day owning a successful family Italian restaurant has become a reality, and now Casaletto would like everyone to experience what Luigi and Paul have to offer, good food, a friendly atmosphere and their own little piece of Italy.
